stairs to where?

I was exploring a very old mansion. I was climbing a huge set of stairs. I get to the top of the stairs, there was a door. I opened the door. There was another set of stairs, going down. There were no rooms at the top of the stairs. Just another set of stairs.

Very disappointing!

I closed the door. I looked to the right of me, a door appeared. I found a really cool room. I explored the room. It was full of antiques and little secret hiding places throughout the room.

I believe my dream changed because I was disappointed.
